STORTREGN – Singularity

Label:Non Serviam Records

Rating: 8,5 / 10

Stortregn is a Swiss black/death metal band formed in 2005. They have 1 demo, 1 EP, 1 four-way split and 3 full-length albums ‘till now. This album has ten songs with about 43 minutes in total.

These Swiss guys know how to handle their instruments, that’s for sure. The black metal parts beautiful melt down into melodic death metal parts, like second-period Dissection made before them. “Vertigo” is the perfect example, and one of the strongest song of the album. This Dissection feeling stayed with me for the entire listening.

This album is filled with blast beats, demonic voices straight from hell, fast riffs, melodic guitar solos, cold acoustic riffs, all that packed in a beautiful cold dark atmosphere package.

This is a strong album, made by a very strong and dark band.

I don’t want to forget the guest appearances on this album: Steffen Kummer: (Obscura, Thulcandra),Ville Viljanen: (Mors Principium Est),Simon Girard: (Beyond Creation) and Vladimir Cochet: (Mirrorthrone, Unholy Matrimony, Weeping Birth). Beautiful combination I say.

So grab a copy and dive into depths of hell!
