EZURATE is an original band from the U.S., which entered the dark realm of black metal in 1994. It took almost 20 years for me to get acquainted with this band. More than that, my first contact with them was even debut album “Infernal Dominatio” released in 2000 that I recently discovered, me having 2007 re-released version. Better late than never!

From the first listening, I was kindly impressed by the compositions from this album. Sure, I have not heard anything new, but yet I hear a black metal band fitted together with great songs that keep you plugged in from the beginning to the end.

From the stylistic point of view this album reminds me of Swedish black metal, especially DARK FUNERAL.

The album is quite varied, with alternances between the parts in the fast-tempo speed, mid-tempo speed and even slow-tempo speed, spiced with acoustic guitar passages that give a greater diversity of songs.

By far, the song that remains in your mind at first listening is “Baptism By Fire”, a song that reminds me of IMPALED NZARENE, is a song coming out of the album patterns and who is like a breath of fresh air in the middle of the album.

Concluding, I enjoyed a very good album, quite mature for a debut album, that surely I will listen with pleasure other times, too. All instruments are in their places, production is good, the only minus from my point of view are some guitar solos that I find a little bit uninspired.

Otherwise, whoever voted with black metal, gets an audition more than enjoyable.
